Audience Construction in "Lynch Law in America"

I find the pictures that are shown in the previous class to be rather interesting. When asked who the class thinks is most likely the target audience for Wells-Barnett's article, most people seem to agree with the picture on the far right that represents a man of higher status. I believe the audience should be average Americans and policymakers as well.

I think so because I believe policymakers at that time may just ignore her article because after all, they are the ones who designed the Jim Crow laws and perpetuated segregation. It is very difficult to try and directly convince someone who strongly believes the opposite of what you believe.

I think by allowing the general public to read the article, more support will be garnered and the collective effect will then pressure these policymakers.
